Northwest Liquor Night is currently on hiatus
New episodes return mid-2017.
“These two guys, a host, and a bottle of booze walk into a bar…”
And thus begins the four minutes of tasting, talking, and laughing that makes up every Northwest Liquor Night. This new version of the show is filmed in some of the coolest spots in the Puget Sound Area. And even though it’s had a makeover, we’re still in the business of giving you the “Straight shot on the Northwest’s best spirits.”
The “NEW” Show
Much like its predecessor, this version of Northwest Liquor Night sets out to introduce you to all the fine spirits being produced in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska, and Montana. And this is a blind tasting, meaning our two “guest tasters” only get one clue as to what they’re tasting: The liquor type.
Our tasters talk about flavors and qualities in the product, when finally, host Brian Calvert asks them to boil it down to “Three Little Words.” Once they create a memorable description with just three words, the bottle is revealed, and you’re given a link to a cool cocktail recipe using that spirit!
Call it “speed dating” for liquor! This will be the most fun 4 minutes you’ve ever had getting to know booze that’s made right here in the Pacific Northwest.
Northwest media personality Brian Calvert is the guy we tapped to host the show NOT because knows how to distill spirits and can offer details and technical points all night long.
We have Brian host the show because he’s a solid reporter and interviewer, and doesn’t know a whole lot about booze. In other words…he comes into every episode probably wondering the same things most of you will be wondering. And since he knows many of the panelists you’ll see on Northwest Liquor Night, you’re going to have a great time watching him interact with his friends as they introduce you to some of the best booze the Pacific Northwest has to offer!
Brian has spent his entire 20+ year career in front of you. He’s a longtime local news broadcaster and personality who has most recently worked at stations in Portland, Oregon and Seattle, Washington. He’s a national award-winning storyteller, and is best known for his warm smile and personal touch when telling a story. These days, Brian can be heard daily on KOMO in Seattle.
